The formatter connector can be broken when being disconnected or connected.

Issue

The gray cover of the formatter connector Main-J96 or Main-J95 (callout 1) can be broken (callout 2) and fall off when disconnecting or connecting the FFC cable.

The E785 and E730 products only have the J96 connector (callout 3).

Cause

If the cable is forcibly handled in a way that does not conform to its locking structure, during the process of connecting and disconnecting cables, the connector part may be broken.

Solution

Understand the locking structure of the connector correctly and insert the cable according to the following guidelines.

Correctly inserting the cable

  1. Make sure the connector is open.

    Open the connector
  2. Insert the cable after the cable tip cover is positioned upward.

    Insert the cable
  3. Check to make sure the cable is inserted up to the black marking line.

    Check that the cable is installed
  4. Close the connector clip downwards.

    Close the connector
  5. To remove a cable, reverse these steps.

    NOTE: 

    The clip is easy to break. Handle it gently.
